Everything we went through was well worth it. Lauren is doing great in her new environment. She is happy EVERYDAY. We have met with her "team", psychologist, speech therapist, guidance councilor, principal, reading specialist, teacher, and the two of us in one room to see what we can do!! We made a thirty day goal to increase Lauren's fluency!!

I just got hired as an assistant teacher/bus monitor for Head Start. I made the deal that if it didn't work out I would go back to being a sub. I start on Monday.

I have to make a dry run this weekend to make sure I know where the bus will pick me up.

Just a reminder that Gramps turns 90 next month. It would be great if everyone could send an individual card so he gets lots of them. It is best to send to Aunt Reenie's house in MI. so she can read them to him and make sure he knows who they are from. Pictures wouldn't hurt.

It looks like phase 19 of our master plan is coming together.

Phase 19A: A few weeks ago, Carrie & I accepted an offer that was made on our Maryland townhouse. We have made it through the inspection and appraisal. Our buyer has their financing in place, and we're scheduled to close on August 6.

Phase 19B: Last weekend, we submitted an offer to purchase a newly constructed single family home in Richmond (actually, Glen Allen), and on Monday, our offer was accepted. We have our financing in place, and we are scheduled to close on August 6... wait.. that's the same date that we're selling our house... yes, folks... in crazy McElhaney style, we are going to be selling and buying a house on the same day. The main reason for this is to avoid having to move our stuff into storage, then into our new house.

Carrie finishes her current job on Aug 1, and will be starting her new job on Aug 11.. so her week "off" will be spent packing, moving, and unpacking. Fortunatly, we have great support. Both of our Mothers are coming up this weekend to help us pack... thanks Moms!!

Keep your fingers crossed that everything goes as planned in two weeks... We will update you after the transactions are(hopefully) completed.
